Anyone Else Have this Problem?

Okay, so this post isn't going to have much research behind it. Let's face it...I don't think I can Google this particular problem...

Yesterday morning, in Sunday school, we started talking about Characteristics of Wisdom. One of the "characteristics" of wisdom... and I say characteristics in quotation marks merely because I feel it's better labeled an indication. Anyways, one of the "characteristics" of wisdom is spending time alone, thinking.

I know that a lot of people get a lot of planning and figuring out of problems by spending time alone, just thinking...but, what about people like me. This may sound bad, we all have our "issues" but one of my main issues is what I call "restless brain syndrome." Now, I know this is not normal, but anytime I can think, I get in trouble. Not "I got locked up for a stupid idea" kinda trouble, but my life actually becomes miserable if I have too much time to think.

I like to act like an optimist, but in all reality, I am a pessimist. Almost any time that I have time to think, I think about negative things. If there is the smallest little negative thing in my life, I dwell on it and it grows. This is not something that I actively try to do, but it happens. Does this happen to anyone else?

In realizing that I have this problem, though, I have discovered something else. Because I don't/can't take time to think and plan for life, I often just float through it. I just go through the actions of living, but I don't do anything else.

So, seriously, does anyone else have this problem, or am I alone on this one?

  1. What, you don't aspire to be like Hilter? Pffft... That's just one person's opinion. I used to spend a lot of time thinking, and I was no better off than I am now. I think any woman who's a mom, employee and wife struggles to find time to herself! :o)

  2. Sorry, I should have said that's one MAN's opinion!

  3. I didn't see you there...where were you?
