Thankful Thursday - 2015

Link
This week, I am thankful for....

  • God, my loving father and my provider.
  • my husband, who works hard and goes above and beyond to answer God's call for his life.
  • my oldest, who is compassionate and even moody, at times.
  • my youngest daughter, who is always a bright and smiling face.
  • the boy, who is my little bundle of energy.
  • having a roof over our head's in this hot and humid weather.
  • the dishes that constantly pile up in the sink, they remind me that we have food to make us strong for the work that God calls us to.
  • someone else to wash the dishes (just couldn't resist this one).
  • my so very thoughtful grandmother, who is coming to visit this morning.
  • great friends who help to keep me sane.
  • getting to help in the church nursery with a room full of rambunctious boys.
  • the brilliance of people who started free item groups on facebook and craigslist (I am blessed by others and can bless others myself).
  • my large and loving church family.

Thankful Thursday 2014: Week One

Link
Today, I am thankful for...

...the window air conditioning unit and fans throughout our house. We have an old house with bad windows, little insulation, and the condenser unit keeps developing a freon leak. In the "dog days of summer," I am happy for anything that moves the air.

...my hubby, who has let me get a nap this morning. I desperately needed it.

...my hubby's new job and the fact that they have told him that he didn't need to be there until 11am.

...God's provision as we learn to live off of one income. Money never seems to go far enough, but we seem to have enough food and just enough money for gas.

...the fact that I get to stay home. It's RUFF, but it is where I still believe God wants me to be.

...my oldest daughter, who is about to turn 13 years old, and the fact that she has a compassionate and understanding spirit.

...my youngest daughter, who is an endless source of comedy in our family.

...my dog is a constant source of companionship.

...my cats who provide me with no lack of things to do and watch in our house.

Thankful Thursdays: Week Twelve

Today, I am thankful for...

...the fact that I have a job. Granted, I am being moved to another office in another city to do a job that I hadn't done in 6 years, but at least I have a job and they are paying me mileage. (Honestly, I am quite flattered to be getting this new position.

...that my husband went out last summer on a whim and bought a window airconditioning unit. I have an old house with bad windows and every year my new condensing unit mysteriously develops and freon leak. In this 90+ degree weather, I am happy for anything that moves the air

...a great Thanful post that reminded me of the pirate song. "Yo ho yo ho the pirates life for me" has been echoing in my head for days.

...the opportunity to take my youngest to camp last week. We spent one night away from home, but really had some great times and precious bonding time.

...that my hubby got a new job closer to home. Even if it means that he has to return my precious laptop today.

Thankful Thursday: Week Eleven

This week and I am thankful for...

...having my youngest home.
...having a husband who will undertake projects such as gutting and rebuilding the bathroom.
...for living in a free country where I can express my thoughts, feelings, and emotions without fear of under prosecution.
...for having a compassionate, if moody, young lady for a daughter.
...for having help dealing with my depression.
...for having a job, even if I don't want to get up some mornings. =-)
...having my "crack baby" (my boxer/pit bull whom I can't seem to get enough of).
...for being blessed with a loving box/mastiff mix who loves me and my girls, even if he is a bit of an escape artist.
The baby's crack, and she's crack baby.
...my children having grandparents who can come and take them on a trip to beach, even if I will miss them.
...for having the love of my youngest, which hasn't been easily won, nor will it remain constant (I am sure).
...for the safety of friends and family in Colorado Springs, given their close brush with wild fired.
...for my van, who is perfect for transporting all that I have need of.
...for the ability to budget my money as my family sees fit and have the freedom to buy what we like and what we need with it.

I am just full of blessing this week. :-)

Thankful Thursday: Week Nine

I am thankful for...

...self control, I might have lost it a few times a week if God hadn't strengthened my self control.

...my hubby, who looks out for me and I can trust to take care of things.

...the fact that I have a place where I can be "me."

...that I am married to a man who prays for me.

...the fact that God gave me the family I didn't have as a child (a mom and a dad who love eachother and children who are important to them).

... my kids saying "I love you" for no apparent reason.

...skinny little arms wrapped around my neck (and my heart) when I am having a bad day.

...my dogs, they may drive us crazy and make our house completely hectic, but they are an unending source of comfort and laughter. I am thankful God gave me so much love to go around.

...having my van back. I no longer have to go to work and hour and a half early because I had to ride with the hubby!

Thankful Thursday: Week Eight

This week is a tough one. I just had a completely rotten day, but there are still things to be thankful for.

I am thankful for...

...my husband who used his two days off of work to clean house so that I could relax on my day off.

...my oldest who was a real trooper and helped him.

...my youngest little arms wrapped around my neck and my heart at the end of a ruff day.

...my hilarious little dog who snuggles with me every morning

...the sober and soothing love of my big dog who is never far away.

...the utter chaos which is home (even though the chaos drives me crazy).

...working for such a wonderful company that I can take a day off to stay home with my girls when I need to.

...the challenge of coming up with our monthly budget, it means that we have jobs and money with which to support our family.

Thankful Thursday: Week Seven

As you read the posts that I have planned, you may wonder what I could possibly have to be thankful for in my life. Well, here are a few things:

I am thankful for...

...having a husband who hangs in there (even through my seemingly manic moods)

...both of my girls. Yes, they drive me crazy sometimes, but aren't they supposed to?
...my youngest's sunny disposition, it battles some of those dark clouds that like to follow me around
...my oldest's loving and helpful heart. She really helps a lot when I am in pain.

...even though one of our cars blew up Tuesday morning, God has helped me even out my moods and deal with this productively

...being able to go to the movies with my family and go skating. It's wonderful to be able to make memories with my husband and children.

Thankful Thursday: Week Six

It's time to get back to my Thankful Thursdays, now that 30 days of Thankfulness is over. I really enjoyed the 30 days, it took my weekly post one step further and forced me to look at what I am thankful for on a daily basis, but I am glad to get back to my routine.

This week, I am thankful for...

...my hubby spending time with me, even though he has a completely hectic homework schedule with school.

...getting to have dinner last week with great people, The Daniels. My girls had a blast and we did too!

...having time to play with my puppy on the couch and being able to hand the camera over to someone else.

...having lost 4 lbs, finally.

...my oldest growing and maturing, no matter how difficult it is.

...my oldest also bringing home one one C on her progress report (maybe she is on track to get her cell phone back?).

...my youngest and I truly connecting and her finally accepting that I am not going anywhere, she is so sweet now and doesn't attempt to hijack Daddy's time or push the line when I am around. (this is my step-daughter).

...planning family time for the holidays.

...getting to Christmas shop for the hubby, for the first time, I had some great ideas for him!

...getting to attend an awesome Christmas party and watch my fellow coworkers get recognized for their hard work.

...for winning the opportunity to have my boss's boss babysit for the hubby and I, while we go out on a date night!

Wow, that's a lot to be thankful for this week! Definitely makes up for the Manic Monday.

Thankful Thursday: Week Five

Since I am trying to do thankful Thursday every week, I should probably follow suit with First Day of My Life and start doing some sort of numbering system so it's not so confusing...

This week, I am thankful for...

...a God who guides me
...having a loving husband who busts his butt when I need him too
...both of my dogs. They are both very different creatures, but they are a welcome part of my family
...my step-daughter, who is blossoming
...my daughter bringing home 1 A, 2 Bs, and a C (no Ds, yay!)

Thankful Thursday: Week One

Ok, so I am piggy backing on someone else's idea, but I really like this one and it goes right along with battling those negative thoughts I have been talking about lately.

Here goes.....I am going to start writing a Thankful Thursday series (in case you didn't notice the picture). What better way to celebrate making over hump day and incorporating some more praise into my life?

So, here goes...

I am thankful for....

...chillier weather. That means holiday time (and time to start decorating the house) is nearing.

...my hubby, who never ceases to surprise me!

...Testimony Magazine, who featured my hubby and his testimony in their recent issue.

...friends who remind me just how much the holy spirit could work in my life, if I just let go.

...my sweet daughter and the way that she has really committed herself to something (cheerleading).

...my beautiful step-daughter, who is like a fine wine, she gets better and better with age.

...working at a wonderful company who takes the time to not only share information with it's employees, but also seeks their input.

...having such a great group of Sunday School 3rd graders. They prefer my handwriting, even if it is cursive :-)

...having a hubby who, even when we are arguing, can put everything aside and take care of me when I do something dumb (like piling dishes too high and sending them all crashing to the floor around my feet). I love you baby!
