Tasty Tuesday: Homemade Chinese

Homemade Chinese! Yay!

My hubby is such a good cook! Last week, look what we had:

The hubby cooked up homemade General Tsao's Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Fried Rice, and White Rice.

His recipes are below:

Fried Rice:

-1 egg
-2 T butter or oil
-1 T Kikkoman soy sauce
-2 C cooked rice
-1 C chopped onion
-½ C either shrimp, bacon, ham, pork
-½ C green peas

Scramble egg in butter or oil. Add all ingredients except soy sauce. Cook 4 to 5 minutes over medium-high heat, stirring gently. Add soy sauce; cook 2 more minutes.


General Tsao's Chicken:

-Pancacke Mix (Mix up and dip pieces)
-1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast
-1/4 cup sugar
-3 tbsp soy sauce
-3/4 cup water
-2 tbsp oil
-1 packet Sun Bird General Tso’s Chicken Mix

Dip chicken and fry in pan in Canola Oil.  Remove chicken and allow to drain.  Brown 1/3 onion and green bell pepper.  Add chicken, Sun-Bird General Tso's Seasoning, sugar and water.  Bring to boil, stir.  Simmer to proper consistancy.


Sweet & Sour Chicken:

-1lb boneless chicken in 1-inch cubes and coated with mixed pancake batter.
-Kikkoman Soy Sauce
-2 T oil
-1/4 C water
-2 carrots thinly sliced
-1 onion cut into1 in. squares
-1 bell pepper cut into 1 in. squares
-1 C Sweet &Sour Sauce
-1 C Pineapple chunks

Brown chicken slowly in oil in skillet. Add water and simmer, covered for 20 minutes, stirring twice. Add carrots, onion, bell pepper and sauce. Simmer, covered, 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Add 1 cup pineapple chunks; heat through.
